MANAWATU CLUB. Competitions for the B. and A. Cup were advanced a further stage by members of the Manawatu Golf Club on Saturday, and a Stableford bogey competition _ was staged, Mr J. R. Galloway being the organiser. The conditions were excellent. The following were the leading scores:—G. Robertson and J. A. Ongley, 48 points; J. M. Taylor and N H. Sinclair, 41; C. Beehan and W. W. Smith, 41; J. F. Rodden and L. G. Callis, 40; E. R. Chapman and F. L Gotz. 39; W. Knights and N. Grant, 39; S. W. Rapley and T. Rapley, 37. During the week-end, K. S. Glendinning. who has been playing consistently well, registered three good rounds of 72, 73 and 76. [ E. R. Chapman’s handicap has been reduced, but he broke 80 on Saturday and also on two other occasions during the week-end. PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. During the week-end the second qualifying round was played, a large field of players taking part. The best cards handed in were: —H. W. Kerr, 83—15—68; W. Cater. 82—13—69 : R. Loonev, 85-CT4 —71; J. J. Kells, 86 — 13—73; R. C. Park,-97—24—73; 1. P. Webster, 91—18—73.
