ANNUAL MEETING AT HA VVER ,\

Impressive show and test records of Friesian cows during tho past year, including that of Totara, C. R. Buttercup, which lias completed her sixth year of lactation with 848.181 b buttorfat and a total production of 5,636.211 b buttorfat, a Dominion record for any cow of any breed, woro reported to tlio annual meeting of the New Zealand Friesian Association at Havvora. Mr H. E. Johnson presided. Mr Johnson was re-elected president. Messrs D. J. McCowah (Auckland) and J. Hart (Morrinsvillo) woro elected senior and junior vice-presidents respectively ._ Mill. R. Itovell (Auckland) was appointed auditor. Messrs A. S. Elworthy (Tirtiaru), J. Hart (Morrinsvillo), 11. J. Marchant (Cardiff) and M. S. Rennie (Unmiatao) wero elected to the council. It was decided to support the retention of tho prcßL-nt regulations prohibiting the direct importation of stock from Great Britain to New Zealand. A donation of £l6 for special prizes in the Friesian classes at tho Royal Show at Palmerston North was decided on. Messrs A. S. Elworthy (Timaru), E. M. North (Otago) anil L. A. Leslie (Rangiora), wero recommended as Friesian judges at the Royal Show. Mr Johnson was appointed to l-opresent tho society on the council of tho New Zealand -Royal Agricultural Society. j The North Island Friesian championship for the 1937-38 season was’*awarded [the Auckland A. and P. Association and the South Island championship to the Otago A. and P. Association.
