PERSONAL.
Mi- D. Wilson, national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, was re-elected unopposed to the office yesterday by the annual conference of the party in Wellington.
Prior to the commencement of matches in the Easter tournament of the Palmerston North Gun Club yesterday, marksmen participating stood in silence when a motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs Louni and family in the death of Mr G. A. Louni, who was a keen supporter of the club.
The death of Mr Donald ("Dan”) McKenzie at Lower Hutt yesterday, in his 69th year, removes a well-known figure in Rugby and cricket circles. He was the first chairman ot the \\ eilington Cricket Umpires’ Association, and had officiated as an umpire' over a long period of years. He was also a member of' the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, and was sole selector for some seasons. He was for over 20 years a member of the executive of the New Zealand ltugby Referees’ Association, and had held the position of president, on many occasions. Mr McKenzie was for manv years a prominent member of the Thorndon Methodist Church.
