EASTER ACCIDENTS.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Marcn 28. As the result of a motor collision afc the corner of Wilson and Owen Streets, Newtown, at about midday on Easter Saturday, five members of one family were injured, three of whom were taken to hospital by the Free. Ambulance. They are Mrs' E. Hayes and her two daughters. Misses M. and N. Hayes, all of whom were in a fairly serious condition, which, however, has now improved. Their car, which was driven by Kenneth Haves, collided with n taxi driven by a man named Dale and was damaged substantially by the impact. Miss M. Hayes received lacerated wounds to the scalp, concussion, shock, and injuries to the feet, and her sister practically the same wounds, but more severe. Mrs Hayes received shock, bruises, and abrasions to the right side, and the driver received slight shock and concussion. Another passenger, Keith Hayes, was unhurt. CROSSING COLLISION. Per Press Association. NAPIER, March 28. A level-crossing accident on Saturday afternoon resulted in two youths, D. Anderson and Kyte, being admitted to hospital. A brother of Anderson was also injured, but less seriously. The crossing is an open one, but the motorists neither saw nor heard the engine, which was travelling light. The engine-driver said he thought the van was about-to stop. There was a heavy, wind at the time. Although the whistle was blown twice, the warning went unheeded.
