MELBOURNE CRIME.
GRUESOME DISCOVERY. MELBOURNE, March 29. A sugar bag containing the arms and legs of a woman was found in the River iarra. near the city, by two boys playing on the bank. Ihe boys called a constable to the scene and investigations are now being made by detectives. Officers examined the gruesome discovery and formed the opinion that the limbs' were severed from the body two or three weeks ago. Evidently Hie deed had been skilfully done with a very sharp instrument. No other part of the body has been found, and no identification so far has been possible. The case bears a strong resemblance to the “shark arm” mystery in Sydney in 1935. Tlie woman is l>elieved to have been between 20 and 40 years of age.
