RUGBY REFEREES.
ANNU A L CONFER ENCE. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Alarcli 27 Rimby referees from all parts of the Dominion are in Wellington for the annual conference of the New Zealand Rugby Relerees’ Association. The chairman, Air G. E. Bradley, said that from candidates for examination it was clear that certain laws of the game were insufficiently known by men aspiring to become senior referees. Air T A Fletcher, a member of the New Zealand Rugby Union Afanagemerit Committee, said there was a greru deal of room for improvement in the standard of refereeing. Air J. N. Alillard. AVellington Rugby Union, said that not even a selector suffered the abuse referees did, this being due to the ignorance of the public’as to the rules.
