On Saturday, a team representing the Ashhurst Tennis Club journeyed to Pohangina to play a match, the result being a win for the visitors by 12 sets and 108 games to 8 sets and 102 games. Details of the play are as follow local players being named first: —Mens singles: W. Smart lost to C. Brewer, 6—7; R. Smart beat J. Borrett, 7—l; F. Roberts lost to N. Brewer, 5—7; G. Thomson lost to R. Potts, 5—7; I. Lepper beat J. Bayley, 7 —3. Women’s singles: Miss M. AXaddison lost to Afiss K. Brewer, 3 —6; Aliss J. Sinclair beat Aliss S. Read, 6 3; Aliss D. Watson beat Miss E. Eaton, 6—4; Airs A. Roberts beat Miss L. Trem. ewan, 6 —5; Aliss J. Howell lost to Aliss N. Muldrock, I—6.1 —6. Alen’s doubles: W. and R. Smart beat C. Brewer and Borrett, 7—2; Roberts and Thomson lost to N. Brewer and Potts, 5 —7; Lepper and A. Roberts lost to Potts and Bayley, 4 7. Women’s doubles: Alisses Maddison and Sinclair beat Alisses Brewer and Read, 6—4; Aliss Watson and Mrs Roberts lost to Alisses Eaton and Trcmowan, 3—6; Alisses Howell and Watson lost to Alisses Aluldroek and Tremewan, 5—6. Alixed doubles: W. Smart and Aliss AXaddison lost to G. Brewer and Aliss Brewer, 5—7; R. Smart and Aliss Sinclair beat Borrett and Aliss Read, 7 —6; Roberts and Aliss Watson lost to N.
