CHAMBERLAIN’S PRIVILEGES. The Privy Council has rejected the claim of the hereditary Lord Greal Chamberlain, the Earl of Ancaster. ti erect a box in Westminster Abbey foi the Coronation, but recognised his right to exercise the duties previously appertaining to the office of Lorci Great Chamberlain and to have such
privileges and profits as the King night determine. , The Earl had claimed not only tne right to erect and ns© a box, but to wearing 40 yards of crimson velvet with his robes, to lodge at the Ring s Court at all times, to dress the King n Coronation Day, and to carry the Royal Robe, Crown and Sword of state presented to the King at the High Altar.
