PRICES AT WELLINGTON. FIRM ON NAPIER. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. Buyers were on the bench in full strength at to-day’s Wellington wool sale, with Bradford, the Continent, the United States, Japan, Australia and New Zealand well represented. The bidding was steady and not quite so excited as at some other sales, out there were practically no passings. Prices mere on a parity with those at Napier and showed tlie market to he strong, especially for average crossbred. 'Typical prices early in the sale were : Crossbred.—l3Jd to 14dd. Medium crossbred.—l4d to lGd. Fine crossbred. —153 d to 17id. Super-crossbred.—lßd to 22d* Half bred. —17d to 22d. Southdown. —203 d to 233 d. Corriedale.—l?id to 2(kl. Lincoln.—laid to IGJd. Romney.—l4d to lGd. Lambs.—lOd to lojd. Bellies and pieces.—-lOd to 123 d. Necks.—l3fd to IGJd. ERRATIC TENDENCY. Towards lunch it .became apparent that the lower qualities were in rather slacker demand than at the opening. Passings, though not many, were hemming more frequent. The market, in .act, was somewhat erra.tic. America was predominant in the demand for higher qualities, while local .naimlaeturers were active competitors lor high quality wools, and one company paid up to 24fd for a line of ualf-bred.
