MILSON AIRPORT.
GRATIFICATION OF MINISTER. The Palmerston North 50,000 Club wrote to the Hon. F. Jones (Minister of Defence) about a week before the loan proposal was submitted to the ratepayers asking him to advise the club if lie favoured the principle of municipalities controlling the airports. The Minister has written to the club under date December 7 as follows: “It was not until my return on Saturday from the South Island, where L have been engaged during the past week, that I received your letter of the 26th ultimo. Had your communication reached me in time, it would have given me very much pleasure to have sent you a suitable and favourable message. However, I was gratified to read in the newspaper that the loan proposal had been carried.—Yours iaitlifully, (signed) F. Jones.”
