THE WHEAT BUG.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. S. An important discovery has been made by Mr H. E. Vest, consultant and technical adviser to a group of New Zealand flour mills, which will have the effect of nullifying any damage to wheat from tho wheat bug, the presence of which in certain crops has been suspected though not yet proved. At any rate it lias been proved that much wheat exhibits qualities in the flour similar to that from wheat infected by tho wheat bug. Mr Vest’s investigation has discovered'a milling technique which produces from this wheat normal flour of high quality. The effect of the discovery will save the farmers from loss and will protect millers who may have purchased infected wheat which is not always recognisable as such.
