(From Our Own Correspondent.) STAXWAY, Dec. 8. The Stanway Tennis Club, represented by C. Christian, E. Christian, i\. Howey, D. Humphries, E. Crainc, N. beet, Mesdames W. Harvey. C. Christian, Misses J. Dormer, N. Jeffries, D. Dunsfan, and J. Groves, journeyed to Haleombe for a friendly match on Saturday, but rain interfered with the play. Afternoon tea was served in the old ball whore the llalcombe Club captain, Mr M. C. Amadio, welcomed the visitors, Mrs f). Humphries replying. Not wishing to clash with a similar (unction in Haleombe, tho. School Committee decided to postpone their school ball. Ilid.combe not wishing to clash with Stanway, decided to do likewise. However, Sianway School will definitely bold their function thin week. Farmers are at last making headway with sowing crops, but the shearing has been badly bold up. As a rule most of it is done before Christmas, but thus season il will be well into the New Year.
