ISLAND FRUIT.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Dec. 9. The correspondent of the United Press Association writes as follows from Rarotonga: The Union liner Makura, which left Rarotonga on December 1. carried approximately 5000 cases of bananas for which growers nere paid 9s 6d a case in the shed and 10s on the wharf. A shipment of tomatoes was also sent, most of which was on consignment. ...... . From now until the beginning of April or late March the main fruit exports wil be bananas. In March and April oranges wil be. ready for shipment.
