TERRACE END SUBURB

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. Activities to be undertaken in the programme for the year were discussed at the monthly meeting, last evening, of the Terrace End Progressive and Development Association. Mr F. J. Oakley presided, others present, being Messrs J. A. Nash, F. C. Litchfield, J. Davidson. G. W. Mills, T. F. Fairbrotlier, W. T. Roots, G. Glendinning, R. Cousins, S. J. Parkes, T. W. Henderson, F. Robinson, J. Mitchell and H. J. King. The chairman advocates! that a treeplanting programme be undertaken, as the streets of Terrace End were very bare in this respect. It was. resolved to seek the authority of the City Council to plant trees in selected streets on Arbor Day, and to ask it to supply the trees. It was also decided to ask the City Council to adopt tho recommendation made by the librarian that branch library facilities be established at Terrace End. , ~ Application is to be made to the City Council, on the suggestion of Mr Nash, for the use of the Coronation Hall ’free of charge for meetings. The appointment of a chairman of the executive committee was deferred until the next meeting.
