NOTES.
Prior to the monthly meeting of the Feilding Borough-Council on Thursday evening"', the opportunity will be taken by the Mayor (Mr T. Collins) to present to Constable Gillard a framed cerilicate from the Royal .Humane Society in recognition of his gallant rescue of two girls, Joyce Jessop and Dorthv Claascn, aged 14 and 12 years respectively, who got into difficulties in the Rangitikei River at Tangimoana last January. Fully clothed, Constable Gillard. dived into deep water and effected their rescue. Last evening there was a good attendance at the Feilding Municipal Band practice. Christmas carol music engaged the attention of bandsmen, and it was decided to commence carolling next Sundav. The band intend visiting Awahuri, Sanson, and Kopane before Christmas.
