PROGRESS OF COLONY. I’er Press Association. WANGANUI, Dec. 5. Dr D. Miller assistant director of tile Cawtliron Institute, visited Wanganui yesterday and inspected tlie observation colony of Chilean saw! lies which he established on Mr T. Currie's Brunswick property last winter. The insects are now in the caterpillar stage, and could he seen attacking the bidi-bidi plants. Dr Miller said he was well satisfied with the progress of the colony and confident that the insects would efficiently carry out the purpose for which they were imported from Chile—namely, the destruction of the bidi-bidi pcs’. Dr Miller went on to Elthani to inspect the colony which he liberated on Mr Harwich Smith’s property last winter.
