Although it was hoped that the Minister of Education (Hon. P. Eraser) would officiate at the Feilding Agricultural High School prizegiving ceremony, this month, Mr L. J. Wild, the principal, has received an intimation to the eflect that the Minister will not ho aide to attend, and accordingly Hon. J. G. Cobhe, M.L’., has accepted an invitation to give an address and to present the prizes. The winners of the Feilding Draughts Club euchre evening were Messrs L. Bur no, W. Rusoman and Mersdiuncs Watson and Graham. Miss Smith wiiii the winner of a lucky number competition. In view of their approaching marriage, -Ur F. Poole and Miss (). Duncan" were the guests of honour at a social arranged by the Feilding Caledonian Pipe Band on Friday. A programme of musical items and dancing constituted the entertainment, and at a suitable juncture the president of the Pipe Band (Mr D. F. Fraser) made a presentation of a handsome

silver teapot to the guests of honour. On behalf of the band, Mr Fraser extended good wishes. The guests of honour were also the recipients of many other useful gifts. Mr Poole expressed thanks for the gifts. The weekly card and dance party conducted by the Foresters’ Lodge was again very well patronised. The winners of tiie euchre prizes were: Mesdames Wilson and Watson, Messrs Moana, Whale. Prendergast and Howell. Mr Strawbridge and Mr 13. King were the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz, while a competition was won by Mr Hosking.
