LEGATION GUARD.

- GOVERNMENT’S THANKS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 25. The British Legation guard at Addis Ababa, which, as previously announced, is returning to India, is due to embark at Djibouti to-day. Before its departure troni Addis Ababa a message, from the Foreign Secretary (Mr R. A. Eden) was read at a parade of all ranks. He expressed the British Government’s apprtcia tion of the gallant and effective services rendered during a very trying period in Abyssinia. The message recalls that the guard, by its instant response at a moment of grave emergency, was able to protect many hundreds of British and British-protected persons, as well as foreigners whose lives would otherwise have been imperilled, and to relieve three foreign legations.
