MEDICAL WARNING.
TINTING OF EYELIDS. Received November 27, 11.25 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 26. ' Warning women of the danger of tinting their eyelids, an article ill the Lancet states that as long as this shading is done by substances with a carbon hase it is relatively harmless, but fashion demands frequent changes in colour and new methods of production of fine chemicals result in a whole series of colours. This is where the mischief is born. Undoubtedly there is a possibility of an inflammatory response to the more commonly used pigments. Nothing the chemist can adduce will entirely obviate the risk if aniline dyes, no matter how they are treated, continue to be employed in their manufacture.
