SUPPORT FOR MR PATERSON. CANBERRA; Nov. 26. Replying to a Labour member (Mr James) in the House of Representative's, who asked whether Hon. 1Paterson (Minister of the Interior) intended to resign as a result of the disclosures in a section of the Press, the Prime Minister said the Minister ot the Interior had no intention of resigning and Cabinet bad 110 intention ol asking him to do so. . The Attorney-General (Mr Menzies) announced that the letter from Mrs Frears New Zealand solicitor was at present under consideration. The Sun’s Canberra correspondent states that the Leader of the Opposition (Mr J. Curtin) does not intend to bring the Labour Party into the Mrs Freer dispute. Mr Curtin said that the question of whether the ban against Mis Freer is justified depends upon facts. “I do not know the facts, and the Minister refuses to make them public.” ... The correspondent adds that la Paterson declared that he had no intention of resigning.
