At. the weekly cuelirc party held under the auspices of the Tennis Club the first prizes were won by Mrs W. Pope and Mr A. Williams, and .Mrs Gardner and Mr J. Hendrick won consolation prizes. A tennis match played between Ibakara and Tokoinaru resulted in a win for Tokomaru by 13 sets to 11. Following arc the results, Ibakara players being mentioned first: —Women’s singles: Alisa J. Butt beat .Miss D. Towler, Miss V. Cottle lost to Mrs Gyde, Mrs Hustler lost to Mrs 11. Penticost, Miss Elliott beat Miss A. Anderson, .Mies K. Johnston beat Miss M. Schwass, Mies M. Johnston beat Mrs L. Simpson. Men’s singles: K. Elliott beat D. Standish, G. Elliott lost to L. Tnggell, J. Barley boat E. Rowland, J. Ward lost to B. Walden, R. Baylis lost to A. Williams P. Bavlis lost to R. Gyde. Mixed doubles: K. Elliott and Miss Butt lost to D. Standish and Miss Towler, G. Elliott and Miss Cottle lost to L. Tnggell and Mrs Gyde J. Ward and Mm Hustler lost to E. Rowlands and Mrs Penticost, J. Barley and Miss Elliott heat B. Walden and Miss Anderson, R. Baylis and Miss K. Johnston lest to A. Williams and Miss Schwass, 1. Bavlis and M. Johnston lost to K. Gvdo and Mrs Simpson. Women’s doubles: MEs V. Cottle and Miss J. Butt beat Miss Towler and Mrs Gyde, Mrs Hustler and Miss Elliott beat Mrs. Penticost and Mire Anderson, Misses K. and M. Baylis' lost to A. Williams and R. Gyde. At the final card party conducted by the Women’s Institute the first prize was won by Mrs Penticost, and Mrs Glaridge won the consolation. The hostesses ‘ were Miss Jamieson and Mrs Boole. Mm S. Anderson, of Sprcydon. Christchurch, is visiting relatives in Tokoinaru.
