PAHIATUA, Nov. 26. Mr G. 11. Brown judged the calf competition at the Ruawhata School. In the rearing and handling class awards wero made as under Kathleen Davehpol't 1, William Davenport 2, Cliff Fergus 3, Val Brown and James Harris h.e. Dairy type: William Davenport 1, Kathleen Davenport 1, Cliff Fergus 3, Hugh Feigus h.e. Tho Education Board s agricultural instructor (Mr Brocket) was present. Mr Brown gave tl#: children a short talk after the judging. Mr G. Hill has presented a cup. to the committee, to be awarded for the best typo calf. The Pahiatua Scouts Committee has been successful in its endeavour to secure three executive officers, a rccom- ! mendntion to appoint Messrs L. F. Barj rnclough, Scoutmaster, L. D. Lovelock hon. treasurer, and Mr M. A. Robertson hon. auditor, having been advanced. At a meeting, suggestions for the encouragement of tho Scouts wero advanced by several speakers, while tho chairman said ho hoped that tho committee would show more interest in the troop's affairs. A vote of thanks was passed Mr Barfaclough for his ability in keeping tho troop together despite many Setbacks. The. Pahiatua School’s annual sports were held this ufternoon.
