LONGBURN

(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONGBURN, Nov. 25. A kitchen evening was tendored to Mrs Eric Ennis, on Tuesday, at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. Hearsey, Kurere Road, petitions and dancing, .nv the conclusion of supper, Mrs Hearsey proposed the toast of Mrs Ennis, coupled with that of Mr Ennis, who was unavoidably absent, and expressed the regret of all present that Mrs Ennis would shortly be leaving tho district to reside in Auckland. Mr W. Johnston, on behalf of his sister, thanked Mr and Mrs Hearsey and-family tor organising the function and the guests for the many useful gifts. Those present were: —Mr and Mrs Hearsey, Mrs Ennis, Misses L. and J. Hearsey, J. and I. Morley, A. Smith, M. Rowland, B. Ennis, L. Weddell, Messrs I. Parkinson, R. Rowland, B. Smith, G. 8011, D. Aldersley, W. Johnston, J. Marshall, S. and I. Rowland, W. Weddell, T. Schwamn and B. Key. Mr C. Cooksley, of the Wellington Post Office staff, is spending his annual leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs T. Cooksley. Misses L. and J. Hearsey have returned from Paremata. Dr E. Gunn, medical officer for tho Wanganui Education Board, accompanied by her assistant, visited the school recently.
