LABOUR’S FIRST BIRTHDAY.
Tho local branch of the Labour Party are celebrating the first anniversary of the election of tho Labour Government, on Friday night, by a precession and demonstration to be followed by a social cuchro and dance at the Oddfellows’ Hall. The procession will commence in Fitzhcrfccrt Avenue, opposite the Labour Party’s rooms, at 7.30, proceed round the Square, up Cuba Street, via Rangitikoi Street, and a halt will be called opposite tho Odd-? fellows’ Hall, where Mr J. Hodgcns, M.P., will address tire people. The euchre and social and dance is in tho capable hands of tho women’s division of tho Labour Party (Housewives’ League). A first-class orchestra has boon engaged and an excellent supper will be provided. A feature will bo a birthday cake.
