SALE AT ADDINGTON. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. Shcop entries were smaller at to-day’s Addington market, but those of cattle were very much larger. Fat lambs advanced strongly in price, fat sheep fully maintained recent values, and fat cattle were easier. Store sheep: A small entry, but last week’s high rates were not maintained, there being a goneral easing for all classes of Is a head. Spring lambs: The entry was insufficient tor butchers’ requirements, and an advance of up to 3s a head resulted. The bulk of the lambs sold at 9d to 9id per lb. Fat sheep.—A small entry of approximately 3600 head met with an irregular sale, but on an average fully up to last week’s rates. JOHNSON V TLI. E VALUES. A small yarding of cattle and a heavy sheep entry were forward at the Johnsonvillo stock sale held yesterday by \\ right, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd. The yarding of bullocks was of good quality with a few pons of prime heavy cattle. A good sale resulted for all classes of cattle with no alteration in prices. The cows and heifers yarded were of exceptionally good quahtv, prices being firm on last week’s rates. Ihcrc was a large yarding of runners and vcalers, which met with a ready sale, prices being firm. The wethers penned were chiefly of prime hcavv class with a few pens of medium and unfinished sorts. Prime heavy sheep sold readily at prices on a par with those ruling last week. Unfinished sheep were Is easier. There was a good yarding of prime quality ewes, all classes meeting with a good sale at prices well up to late rates. Prime heavy hoggets sold at late rates, while small and plain sorts were easier to the extent of Is per head. Only a few pens, of prime heavy spring lambs came forward. Values were fully firm in the fat cattle section of to-day’s stock sale at Slortford Lodge, rvhen a moderate entry of 185 head Mas offered. Female beef predominated, with bullock lines few and meeting with a strong demand. The quality of the ontry was quite good, the majority of the cattle being fairly-grown medium-finished lines with only a few lop lines on oiler. Light-finished entries were not in very strong demand Store cattle were feu-er, only 380 head being on offer. The quality was not so good generally, but several outstanding pens were included. The market was on a par to easier according to quality. Fat sheep were in normal sup ply with ewes principally penned. Wethers and lambs were firm at late rates, while ewes- recovered a shilling on last week. Store sheep, principally two-toolli M’clhers and ewes, made late rates generally. Fourteen weeks after beef made 36s per 1001 b for the first time in six years, values eased by up to 2s for prime and 4s for other grades at Westfield to-day. Jscef cattle were numcrou. the offering being the heaviest since the high price was quoted, and bidding quietened throughout the sale. The decline in individual quotations was as much as £1 a head. Extra choice ox sold to 34s per 1001 b; choice and prime, 29s lo 335; secondary and plain, 25s to 30s; prime cow and heifer beef, 29s to 335; ordinary, 20s to 28s.
