(From Our Own Correspondent.; OPIKi; Nov. 23. The Hall Society held a euchre and dance recently. 'J.lie stage had been decorated with bowls of spring flowers. A novelty danco wus won by ill's A. Simpson und Miss B. Beard. The euchre was well patronised, the winners being Mrs 11. Kars and Mr C. Marriott. Consolation prices wore awarded to Mrs C. Murriott and Mr Horn. Severul other competitions considerably swelled the exchequer of the society. Among those present were: Mcsdames Norman, in black taffeta and lace; Claridge, riso pink lace, with panne velvet sash; G. Larsen, navy blue erope-do-chine; R. L. Horne, black taffetta; W. Irwin, brown jnarocain; C. Marriott, black niatalasse; W. Elley, navy blue and white marocain; H. Seifert, Gregory, J. Cooksley, J. Buglass, W. Jackson, G. Yule, G. Alwright, 11. Kars, W. Mieis, J. Mabey, Schwass (Tokomaru), Misses P. Tate (Palmerston North), blue marocain and silver; B. Beard, blue crepe de soie with silvergirdle; M. Isaacs (Palmerston North) silk velvet; R. Young, pale blue crepe-de-chine, J. Young, red and black; J. Buglass, scarlet and white floral gsorgette; J. Southee, midnight blue satin; V. Voss (Tokomaru), shell pink crepe; A. Tennant, black velvet; I. Carson, blue satin; M. Alve, peach lace and satin; I. Digby (Apiti), lemon crepe suede; G. Marriott, pale green taffeta;. N. Alva, leaf gTeon sun crepe. The sympathy of the district residents is extended to Messrs Ivan and Norman Crol.'d in the loss they have sustained by the death of their brother, Mr \V. B. Croad, of Rangiotu. Miss G. Digby, of Apiti, has been the guest of Mrs A. Sanies. Mr Davey has his sister from Wellington as his guest. Miss P. Tate wub the guest of Mrs Norman, recently. Mr and Mrs H. Seifert paid a brief visit to Opiki during the week. Miss 0. Clausen (Palmerston North) is the guest of Mtb 0. Clausen. Miss Y. Henderson paid a visit to Foxton last week. Mrs Barry is at preset the guest of her mother at Koputaroa. The. sympathy of residents is extended to Mr J. Aitchison, father passed away on Monday night at Martinborough.
