PLUNKET SOCIETY.

PALMERSTON NORTH BRANCH. Miss M. McLagan presided over the monthly meeting of the . Palmerston North branch of the Plunket Society, which was held in the City Council Chambers, yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdames M. Aitchison (secretary-treasurer), L. H. Collinson, J. G. Crooks, \V. G. Black, A. E. Alatisford, H. B. Bennett, H. B. Free, K. Garland, and L. A. Ferguson. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdamei? A. Coombs (president), A. Grigor, R. T. Tidswell, G. C. Petersen, J. Hope Johnston, and T. F. Fairbrother. Mrs Garland was welcomed back after six months’ leave of absence. Mrs W. M. Webster was granted lea\"e of absence as she is making a trip to England for health reasons. Miss A. M. Kearns wrote on behalf of the nursing adviser, stating that Miss Coppack would relieve during the annual leave of 22 days of each nurse, which would commence early in January. A letter was received from the town clerk (Mr J. R. Hardie) in regard to the question of tubercular-free milk, advising that the matter had been referred to the Health Department for advice. The report presented by the relieving Plunket nurse (Miss I. M. Lockwood), stated that there had been 133 visits to homes, and 1459 to the office (adults 734, babies 675, older children 50). There had been 40 new cases. Parcels of clothing were gratefully acknowledged from Mrs Brown. Mrs E. Graham, and Mrs Wesney. Dealing with outstations, the report stated that four visits had been paid to Foxton and 10 visits to homes. There had lieen 144 visits to the office (adults /0, babies 58 older children 16). Three new cases had been added to the books. Sales for the month had realised £2o Bs. Membership fees of 5s had been received from Mrs AY. A. Carey, Mrs E. A. O’Brien, Mrs A. AV. Bearsley an annual subscription of 5s from Airs J. T. Hav, and donations from Mrs J. D. Lewis (os), Mrs J. Tait (£1), Mrs C. H. AVildbore (7s 6d), and Mrs J. H.
