CARNIVAL CONCERT.
FOR HOCKEY QUEEN. A splendid concert was organised by the Manawatu Hockey Association in the State Theatre, on Sunday night, to augment the funds of the hockey queen. There was a good attendance and an enjoyable programme was presented. Mr W. Baker and his party of Otaki Maoris delighted the audience with their items, and Gedson’s Aces gave their usual fine performance. Tho programme was as follows : Young’s Trio, “Moumoua”; duet, “Mood For Love,” Miss Ida Joblin and Mr Frank Bignall; instrumental trio, “Ear Full Music,” Messrs Daly, Pliilp and Peterson; solo, “Stay as Sweet as You Are,” Mr Frank Bignell; company, “Bird of Paradise”; solo, “Lilac Time,” Walter Baker: duct, “Dancing With My Shadow,” Mr Joseph Young and Miss Kara Warren; Young’s Trio, “Lights Out”; Miss Ida Joblin and Mr W. Baker, “Souvenir” ; company, “Now It Is the Hour.” Mr G. Pattlc was accompanist for the foregoing items. Gedsori’s Aces, four selected items; saxophone solo, Mr R. Lester; xylophone solo, request number, “Rose Room,” Mr F. Gedson.
