MORE MARRIAGES
A decrease in the number of deaths and a slight increase in the number of births are disclosed in the vital statistics for Palmerston North for the month of September. Forty-six births were registered, as compared with 43 for the corresponding month last year. The deaths totalled 23, a decrease of eight as compared with .September, 1935. The number of marriage notices issued was 15 as compared with 13, and the registrar carried out two marriage ceremonies as against one in September, 1935. Eor nine months ended September 30, the births show a decrease, being 436, as compared with 453. The deaths decreased from 238 to 231. There is a marked increase in the number of marriage licenses issued, these aggregating 244 as compared with 195. The registrar performed 49 marriages, as compared with 41 in the same period of 1935.
