STYLISH VEIL.
DUCHESS OF KENT. The London Daily Mail states: The Duchess of Kent, on returning from the Continent, wore a chic new version of the Victoria veil, recalling the fashion that Queen Mary revived 10 years ago, when she introduced the lightly-patterned veil covering the face, and twisting into a knot beneath the chin. The Duchess, however, wore a large mesh, big-spotted veil, giving greater softness to the contour of the face by covering the whole of the throat. The innovation has caused a flutter among Bond Street milliners, one of whom says that the full-face veil is usually “too old” for a younger woman, but that the very smart type that the Duchess wore enhances youthful beauty.
