AWAPUNI NOTES. THIS MORNING’S TRIALS. (By “Spectator.”) Overnight ram made the track at Awapuni on the easy side for this morning’s work. The poles were on tho extreme outside of the course, and a strong wind that blew up the straight slowed down the times to a certain extent. Alloa (Anderson) on his own ran five furlongs in 1.13, finishing strongly. Corroborce (Chisholm) and Lavish (Anderson) wont togother over five furlongs in 1.9 2-5. C'orroboreo on the outer had an advantage at the finish, but both did their work well. , A seven furlongs task was allotted a trio in Hunting Lodge (Anderson), Round Score : (Thomson) and I’adnos (Browne), the last six taking 1.24. Round Score, who i 3 engaged in the Ling Alemorial at Otaki, finished full of running over the last furlong to be in front at the post, with Hunting Lodge and I’adnos following in that order. Round Score made friends by his good effort. Gold Nymph (Thomson), Laggard (Browne) and Severe (Anderson) had an interesting work-out over five furlongs. They ran together most of the way, but down the straight Severe came away to win nicely from Gold Nymph, with Laggard a length and a half further back. Tho Lackham —Autumn Sessions mare in C. Robinson’s stable, ridden by S. Anderson, and the Arausio —Water Lily filly (Thomson) strode round to tho threo furlongs peg, where the pace was increased, the journey homo taking 43 3-ssec, with the filly holding tho advantage. Wild Flower (Anderson) did her work well in getting over three furlongs in 42 2-ssee. . . Muggins (Thomson) on his own loft six furlongs behind in 1.30. Alorrath (Browne) was not timed over seven furlongs, but 6he did her work well. Taumau (Nicol) and Happy Hunting (Anderson) went well over five furlongs m 1.10 1-5, the latter finishing tho better. Alisa Pango (McDowell) and Tangled (Paricos) jumped seven fences in the “bullring,” Miss Pango showing up the better of the two. In addition to his rides for Otaki announced the other day, S. Anderson has been engaged for Nightrnnncr in the Mcma Hack Handicap.
