A decree is being published authorising the formation of the “Portuguese Legion,” a voluntary army to combat Communism and anarchism.
“Portugal has her own defined doctrines, but the people are alarmed at the perils from which other countries are suffering. Twenty thousand have volunteered to form Hie Legion, and the Government has accordingly given the Legion shape,” it is stated.
