HOROWHENUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Otaki, Sept. 15. At the last meeting of the Otaki Borough Council it was decided that an alarm boll bo placed at Otaki Beach to give warning in enses of drowning, although it was pointed out that the beach was one of tho safest in the Dominion. _ It was also decided to writo to the Manne Department and ask permission to take sand and gravel from the beach, and , als ° prices for improving the road at the Ran giuru Beach road avenue. During the month sixteen head of wandering stock had been dealth with and two cases dealt with by the Magistrate, fines being flicted.
