TEA PARTY FOR GUEST.
AIRS E. H. COOKE
Wellington friends of Airs F. H. Cooke, of Palmerston North, who • is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Air and Airs Philip B. Cooke, Wellington, were entertained at a tea party which Airs Philip Cooke gave at her home in Halswell Street on Tuesday afternoon in honour of her guest. Those present were Lady liosking, All's L. 0. H. Tripp, Airs Stanton Harcourt and Aiiss Annette Hareourt, Lady Reed, Airs Robert Browning, Lady Elliott, Air David Smith, Airs Claude Weston, Airs P. Marshall and Aiiss Patricia Marshall, Airs Alazengarb, Mrs Jvicly, Mrs Alec Young, Aiiss Elsmie Ward, Airs Duncan Stout, Airs Fred Ward, Airs Philip Hanna, Mrs El AT. Hunt, Airs Ernest Blundell, All's Vincent Ward, Airs Bowerbank, Mrs B. W. Kane, Airs Camille Malfroy, Airs Ken Guy, Airs Alo'rgan Duncan, Airs Ormond Cooper, Miss Grace Booth, and Aiiss Lonui Brodie.
The spring flowers which Airs Cooke chose lor decoration were delightful, their soft colourings harmoniisng with the character as well as the pastel shades of the furnishings in her charming reception rooms.-Tea was served in the dining-room and in the centre of the polished table there was a little round bowl of primroses and grape hyacinths. In the drawing-room, where a bright fire burned in the primrosecoloured stone fireplace, branches of apple and plum blossom blended with the . powder-pink walls, and small bowls of mauve primroses and others of deep blue forget-me-nots repeated -jno zjuup pezß[3 ut s.ino[oo oq; tains and furnishings.
