CHIEF DETECTIVE HALL

AUCKLAND, Sept. 17. Senior-Detective S. G. Hall, of Auckland, has been appointed chief detective in charge of the detective staff at Auckland in succession to Inspector J. Sweeney, who was fare welled last night and leaves this evening to take charge of the Wellington police district.
Mr Hall joined the force in Dunedin in 1908 and was appointed senior-de-tective in 1933, when he was transferred from Dunedin.
