WOMEN MINISTERS.
BISHOP BARNES’S VIEW
LONDON, Sept. 16,
“I have never believed that women are handicapped by their sex for the highest Church offices,” said Rt. Rev. E. W. Barnes, Bishop of Birmingham, addressing a. meeting at Selley Oak, in support of the admission of women to the ministry. He added: “I have known women who would make excellent bishops, wise, firm and kindly. Women might be ordained to the priesthood equally with men.”
