Mr and Mrs A. Sathcrly, accompanied by Mrs Crozier, of Marfon, have left on n visit to Nelson, 'f'hc friends of Mr Bur burv will regret to learn that he is m hospital with an injury to his leg. Mrs A. Martin, of Wanganui, has returned home after spending a few days with Aire A. McCulloch. A meeting of the Hall Committee was held last week when it was decided to hold an end-of-season ball early next month. The fortnightly euchre and dance m aid of the hall funds was again well attended, in spite of the rough weather, last lhursdav evening. The following wore the prizewinners Ladies, Mif* A. Mild C - 1 ” Trask 2; men, Mr R. Tester 1, Mr J. Grihb 2. A cake, kindly dona ed by Mrs M. Penbcrthy, was won by Mr R. 1 c3 t? r - p f h'osts and hostesses were Messrs M. lonberthv and A. McCulloch, Mcsdames W . Penberthy and S. Death. After supper dancing was indulged in music being supplied bv Mr „P. Collins’s hand. The next euchre gathering will he the . final one for this year. Newbury will retain the cuchte shield until next season.
