RONGOTEA

(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Sept. 14.

In his monthly report io tho Rongotea dairy factory directors tho manager (Air Road) advised that tho staff were now working under tho now conditions ot six days per week, which necessitated a rearrangement of duties, but that everything was running smoothly and the staff appreciated having the day off. Air Read also complimented the suppliers on the qu®]"}’ of cream being sent in, and stated that with the trying conditions on tho farms owing to the continued wet weather it was pleasing to be grading 93 points and over for the butter at the grading stores, which meant that the guaranteed price was being received on the butter shipped. Inis was due largely to the quality of the cream and with more sunshine and drier conditions on the farms he felt sure that they would soon be getting the premium on butter to grade 94 points and over. Following tho remarks passed at the annual meeting, the lorry drivers reported that cream stands had been erected by some suppliers but that others had neglected this, and as the cans were each day getting heavier, stands at each gate would be ol great assistance to the men having to lift heavy cans of cream on to the lorries. The directors, in conjunction with all dairy companies in the district, decided to make an advance payment 01 llgd per lb for finest butter-fat until further notice.
