NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held in Wellington, on Tuesday, when there were present:—Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), Messrs W. A. Kiely, C. H. Andrews, A. R. Sclanders, and G. 0. Sutton (secretary). The following new clubs which had made application were elected members of the association :—Glen Massey Golf Club, Glen Massey; Waingaro Golf Club. Waingaro. This makes a total of 29 new clubs elected during the present season and brings the total membership in the association up to 280. The fixing of the date for the annual general meeting, which this year is to be held in Wellington, was left over until the August meeting. Association Professionals. —A list was submitted of tours arranged up to date and various letters were received expressing appreciation of the services of the professionals who had visited their clubs. .... / Gene Sarazen and Miss Helen Hicks—A tentative itinerary has been received from Australia which shows that the present arrangements include matches in New Zealand every day from the 4th to the 17tli August in the following order: —Auckland. Hamilton. Rotorua. Gisborne, Napier. 1 almerston North. New Plymouth. Manganui, Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru. Dunedin and Christchurch. New Zealand Golf Greens Research Committee. —A letter was received from the secretary at Palmerston North, with a copy of minutes, statement of leeeipts and payments and a proof of a pamphlet to bo issued to clubs. With minor alterations to the latter these were approved of. During the present financial year and up to June 30 last the association has contributed £331 5s out of its revenue towards the cost of the experimental work at Palmerston North and the Advisory officer’s expenses.
