PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. Mrs A. C. McCorkindnle presided at the monthly meeting of the Feilding branch of the Plunket Society, those present being Mesdames E. Mason, P. Miles, C Bailey. IL Laurie, H. Brown, A. P. Carter, J. S. Sievers, P. MeGregor. V. .T. Stitehbury. P. O. Stevens (secretary) and Miss Milieu (treasurer). Apologias for absence were received from Mesdames E. Fair. W. Green and C. H. Tate and Misses Mayo, MoElrov and Murdoch. This 'being the first meeting since the annual meeting, the president extended a warm welcome to the new members of the committee, and to Miss Thomson, the newlv appointed nurse. She assured Miss Thomson of the help and-co-operation of the committee, and expressed the hope that her term of service in Feilding would bo a bright and happy one. Replying, the Plnn’et nurse said she felt sure that all would work together with enthusiasm for the welfare of the mothers and babies, and for the success of the branch. Tt was reported that _ several subscriptions towards the gift fund had been received after the farewell party to Miss Armstrong. Members were pleased to learn that there had been sufficient to purchase a hot-water jug to match the silver tea service, and to have the articles suitably inscribed. The secretary reported that the baby carnival was now in progress, the town candidates being John Hrube and Margaret Kelly. The first function for the town pair would be a children’s party in the Parish Hall; novelties, games, music, and dancing, and afternoon tea are to lie special features. The following additional donations to the building fund have been received: Messrs Aitken and Evans, £2 2s; Mr L. J. Wild, £1; Mr W. F. Jacob, £5.
