DEFENCE OF CAPETOWN.
SCHEME EVOLVED. Received July 14, 11.10 a.in. LONDON, July 1JThe Daily Mail’s Pretoria correspondent says that Hon. 0. -throw (Minister of Defence) announced that Capetown Harbour would be protected not only against cruiser, but battleship, attack, a scheme having been evolved with the Imperial De enee Committee which would safeguard the harbour at a reasonable cost lor 10 to 30 years. Mr Pirow will dismiss the scheme with Cabinet before publishing the details.
