FOXTON BEACH ROAD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON. July 14. At a meeting of the Foxton Borough Council last evening, a letter was read from the Foxton Chamber of Commerce asking the council if it could advise what steps had been taken to "have the tar-scal-ing of the Foxton Beach road put in hand. The chamber pointed out that when a deputation waited on the council in April last, with a request that the council should agree to the Manawatu County Council’s proposal lo pay £25 per annum towards the cost, an undertaking was given that the work would be put in band at once and finished before the middle of December of this year. As the summer season was not very far off it was desired that something should be done in the matter in view of the fact tiiat the council and Harbour Board had agreed to pay their quotas. As the council had no Information on the matter it was decided to advise the chamber to inquire as to the position from the Manawatu County Council
