From Our Own Correspondent.) BAIXESSE, July 13. At. the monthly meeting of the Bainesse School Committee, Mr M. J. Kyau presided. Also present were Messrs F. J. Eegg (secretary), D. Tennant, A. C. Buchanan, A Thessnmn, and Mr Kelly (headmaster). Voting papers were received from the Education Board for the election of a representative of the south ward, those being duly distributed. A letter was received from the board commending the committee on their school environment. In relcrencc to this the chairman remarked that the credit was almost entirely due to the headmaster, who had at all times taken a keen interest in the upkeep of the school surroundings. The playing area was also brought under discussion. The committee had contemplated making improvements to this but the work has been deferred pending a consultation with the architect on the ground, with regard io the moving of a shelter shed. Final arrangements were made in connection with a concert to be given in the Hangiotu Hall this week bv a Palmerston North concert party in aid' of the tennis court fund. Air J. Ilyan. of Rotonianu, West Coast, lias been visiting bis brother, Mr M. J. Ryan.
