WEDDING.

ALGAR—STANDEN. A wedding of interest to Taikorca residents was solemnised recently at the Holy I rinity Anglican Churcli. Tuuranga, when Reginald Ernest, third son of Air and Mrs S. E. Algar, Taikorca, and Doris, elder daughter of Air and Airs Standee, Omnnawa Falls, Tauranga, were united in holy matrimony. Rev. O. Gibson officiated. Tho bride made a charming picture as she entered the church escorted by lier father, wearing a beautifully cut frock of white silk lace, with semi-bishop sleeves, a niched coinage trimmed with tiny pearl buttons and the skirt ending in a train. She wore her mother’s veil of hand-em-broidered silk not, which was held in p'aee by a coronet of orange blossom. White gloves, satin and silver brocade shoes and a shower bouquet completed a delightful toilette. She was attended by her sister, Aliss Nancy Standee, who looked very pretty in an ankle-length frock of shell pink crepe, rut on slim fitting lines; double shoulder frilln fell from the shoulder to form a capo effect at the back, while a spray of flowers finished the noekdine. A dainty halo headdress, crystal necklace and earrings (the gift of the bridegroom) shoes and stockings to tone, and a bouquet added the finishing touches to a dainty toilotte. Air Rov Algar attended his brother as best man.

After the eremony the guests adjourned to a reception". Mrs Standen received her guests wearing a. model frock of saxc blue crepe, with felt hat end accessories to match. Mrs Algar, mother of the bridegroom, wore black elephant crone with contrasting trimms'g and matching accessories. Both Mrs Algars and Mrs Standen wore shoulder sprays of violets and maidenhair fern, which were made and presented by a friend of tho bride’s family. Airs l’ill!>ro\v, senr. At the breakfast the usual toasts were Immured and numerous telegrams received from alisent friends and ■ relatives. An object of admiration was the beautiful threo-tier wedding cake, which was made and presented by Mrs A. Richmond, of Taikorca, a lifelong friend of flic bridegroom, and decorated by a c'i'foctioner. The happy couple were also the recipients of numerous wedding presents, including several cheques. Later, Afr and Mrs Algar left for Rotorua, where the honeymoon was spent, the bride 1 ravelling i, a model frock of wine coutcllo and smart burgundy velour coat, made in the latest, fashion, with handsome fur collar, hat and accessories to tone, and carried a beautiful black morocco handbag, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr and Airs Algor’s future home will he at Glen Orouo, and they carry with them the best wishes of i'uniorous friends for a happy married life. —Taikorca correspondent.
