SUNSHINE CLUB.
THIRD BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED,
The third birthday of the Sunshine Club was" celebrated in St. Patrick’s Hall last night with a social and dance. There was a good attendance and a jolly time was spent. Time sped swiftly, and at its conclusion the function was voted an outstanding success.
A programme of mixed dancing was enjoyed, Air R. AlcCulloch acting as AI.C. The following items were given during the evening;—Songs in character, Peggy Havill; songs, Airs Iv. Jones (Mrs Havill aecompaniste for both); musical items, Alessrs Bourko and AA’arne; international reel, Lucy Cronin, Dorothy AlcLean, Alillicent MacDonald and Claude Henderson (pupils of Aliss June Scott); sword dance, Shirley Daizicl. _ Competition winners were Aliss June Scott and Air J. O’Reilly (Afonte Carlo), and Airs AI. Wilson. Extras were played by Messrs Bourke and Warne. A handsome birthday cake, presented by Alesdames E. AV. Scott and F. Cushing, was cut bv the president (Airs E. L. Christian) during supper. Air A. AV. Just, on behalf of the guests, thanked the club for the bright evening, and eulogised the work of the club in helping charitable organisations.
Mrs Christian, in replying, commented on the pleasure it gave to welcome the guests, and the happiness it gave the club to spread sunshine.
