HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.

MONTHLY MEETING, Mrs M. Aitchison presided over the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, which was held yesterday afternoon m the City Council Chambers. Also present were Mesdames T. R. Moore., A. E. Mansford, W. Mouldey, AV - AI. Huntington, J. A. Nash. R. A. Bettle (secretary), A. M. Wilson, H. Coles, and W. H. Richardson; Misses Clark, J. McGhie and M. McLagan. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames H. Sinclair, A. Grigor and J. Stone and Miss V. A. Kelly. A discussion was carried out in >egard to the proposed chapel for the Hospital, and it was decided to sot aside a special account for this purpose. to Ik3 called the chapel fund. Members were of the opinion that a chapel would be a very desirable addition to the Hospital. Tho Saturday afternoon entertainment for children, to he held in the Opera House, was discussed. Mrs Bettle reported on a meeting held by the sub-committee set up to make arrangements for the concert, and on t ie progress which had been made. Ibe programme promised to be an excellent one, as the co-operation of several city entertainers bad been obtained. It was decided that sweets should be on sale. . . ‘ The financial statement was received. The president reported that a generous donation of quilts and garments had been received from the president of the Federation of the Congregational Church, and the ladies expressed warm appreciation of this gift.
