The monthly meeting of die Milton School Committee was hold in the schoolroom last evening. Mr F. G. Murphy presided and also present ’wero Messrs F. Williams, G M. Richmond, S. M. Thomson and L. Robertson (Secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. Eaton and T. I>. Hutchinson. The headmaster (Mr AI. R. McEwen) reported us follows:—“The roll number is now 112. Several pupils have left the school lately Alias Al. R. Alicrs has been appointed as assistant mistrf.es and will take up her duties after the winter vocation. On the present indications the radio fund is going to be a great success, and we believe it would not be t,o toon if we convey our deep appreciation to all who have enabled us to achieve our object. Arrangements are in band for holding Arbor Dav on August 15 and an invitation is extended to parents who arc interested to be present.” Alessrs Alurphy and Williams were appointed Ai.C.’s for the school ball, to be held shortly. It was decided to extend ah invitation to C'olonol J. 11. Whyte to perforin tho opening ceremony at tho school ball. Tho committee recorded their gratitude, and congratulated Airs Murphy on the excellent items provided at the recent social in aid of the school radio fund. The voting popers for the election cf a representative tor the south ward of the Education Board wore ixsuse to members Mr J. J. Gilbert, of Aiontrcal Street, who has been an inmate of the Hospital for the pa6t few weeks, has now returned home, but is only able to get about with tho aid of crutches. All wish him a speedy recovery of his former health.
