ROCKET MAIL.
A SUCCESSFUL TEST. Received July 14, 10.50 a.m. BRISBANE, July 14. Members of the Australian Rocket Society were successful in firing ; rocket containing mail across the Brisbane River. The air chamber was damaged, but tlio mail compartment, containing 300 letters which were subsequently posted, was intact. The rocket travelled 360 yards at art estimated speed of 200 miles an hour, and reached an altitude of 400 feet. The aim of the society is stated to be the transmission of mails by air without the personal element.
