RETAINED BY BURNS. SYDNEY, July 12. A 1 f Burns, holder, beat A. M. Fisher, New South Wales champion, by six lengths for the professional sculling championship of Australia and a stake of c|QO a side over three miles on the Richmond River yesterday. I here lias been no contest for the ■Australian title for about eight years, am! Burns, who is aged 32, made a smc-c.-ssliil comeback after a lengthy absence. Burns sculled at list 31b, and Fisher at list. The title-holder went to the front early and resisted all attempts by Fisher to overtake him. The litne'was 20niin. 15sec.
