BUTTER MARKET IMPROVES. CHEESE ABOVE 60s. The London butter market continued to improve last week, and closed steady at 114 s, a rise of 4s on the week. This is the highest price reached this year, and the equivalent value in New Zealand currency is 141 s. Considerable forward business has 'been done as prices up to Is 2RI per lb, f.0.b., July shipment. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1912 tons, compared with 1607 tons for the previous week and 1460 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 1178 tons, against 1054 tons a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committee’s estiniated stocks of all butters in store is 885,472 boxes, compared with 1.233,459 boxes a year ago and 1,766,170 boxes two years ago. New Zealand butter in store now totals 4221 tons, including 1389 tons ex the Rotorua, Waipawa, and Tamaroa, compared with 4222 tons for the previous week and 6940 tons a year ago. Australian stored butter amounts to 3596 tons, against 8754 tons a year ago. Cheese prices also improved lastweek, closing i-.'c 60s to 61s. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 23,864 crates, compared with 19,409 emtes a year ago, while the quantity in store is now 107,940 crates, including 10,680 crates ex the Tamaroa, against 162,047 crates a year ago-.
